[Edit]2 in a Room is a classic example of a rap group that was much more successful in dance music circles than among hip-hop's hardcore, which tends to be suspicious of all things dance-oriented. When Dose Material and Rog Nice enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame in 1990, it was clear that the duo was thinking of the clubs more than the streets. Hardcore rappers may have dismissed Wiggle It's hit title song as commercial frivolity, but there's no denying just how infectious the house-influenced jam is. And almost as catchy are "She's Got Me Going Crazy," "Bring It on Down," and "Booty Hump." It's important to stress that being dance-oriented doesn't prevent one from having solid rapping skills, and the fact is that these MCs had exactly that. Unfortunately for 2 in a Room, the dance music world can be incredibly fickle, and a few years later, the twosome was all but forgotten.
