[Edit]A very cute novelty item, As Kosher as They Wanna Be would make Dr. Demento proud. Novelty is definitely the right word — 2 Live Jews wasn't a real rap group, but rather a studio creation that was good for a few laughs. This goofy CD features the fictional characters Easy Irving and Moisha MC, two elderly Jewish-American men who took up rap in their old age. The brains behind this project were themselves Jewish, and one who hasn't spent a lot of time in a city with a large Jewish population may not fully appreciate the humor of "Oy! It's So Humid," "Shake Your Tuchas" or "The Matchmaka' Game." About the only time this CD becomes serious is on "Young Jews Be Proud," which brings to mind Run-D.M.C.'s "Proud to Be Black," except that it's reflecting on Jewish history. But for the most part, Kosher's main purpose is to provide some comic relief.
