40th Dimension is a Philadelphia duo comprised of Happ G and Scandal, adding to the extensive list of extremely talented rappers from Philadelphia. Their rhyming seems very polished; they had been together for some time prior to the release of Crop Report, and obviously worked hard to make sure this album wasn't their only splash. To start, there are no intros on the album, just 16 tracks of funky breakbeats and rhyming. Lyrically, they represent with complex verses that say a lot, rather than overly wordy verses without much meaning. You're almost waiting for the album to get boring or slow down as it moves along, but they manage to keep it interesting and dynamic throughout. The production comes from a handful of underground producers, most likely all from Philadelphia. Happ G also does a good job with the beats. A welcome addition to the Philadelphia groups and one that listeners will hopefully be hearing from again.
