Details
[Edit]Released in 2006, Gibraltar is the sophomore solo effort from French rapper Abd Al Malik. The album was influenced by the rapper’s interest in poetry slams and puts new emphasis on the man’s words. It features his first collaborations with Jacques Brel’s former pianist Gérard Jouannest, including the track “Les Autres," which is based on Brel’s "Ces Gens-Là." The groundbreaking effort went on to win the annual French music prize, the Prix Constantin.
