Details
[Edit]A key player in the L.A. underground scene that sprang out of the legendary Good Life Cafe, Abstract Rude is a member of seminal crews like Project Blowed, Haiku D'Etat, The A-Team, and Abstract Tribe Unique. In addition to group albums, he's released a handful of exceptional (if slept-on) solo joints over the years, such as Making Tracks, Still Making Tracks, and Steel Making Tracks. Rocking a super-smooth, melodic sing-song style, he continues to record and tour on a regular basis after more than two decades in the game. On Dear Abbey, he gives us 15 bangers; they're all produced by Vitamin D and were recorded a few years back for their Rejuvenation collabo album. Guest spots are limited and high-caliber, with Myka 9, Aceyalone, and Busdriver eviscerating modern TV news coverage on "The Media" and Hiero honcho Del the Funky Homosapien sounding off on "From Conception 2 Cremation." Also key: "To Help or Hurt," "She's Incredible," and "Blue Moon."
