Details
[Edit]Atlanta's punk aggressors Adolf & the Piss Artists play a suitably powerful but distressed brand of music with a sound as alarmingly captivating as its moniker. Rivaling the Secret Records/No Future-era of U.K. punk, this outfit embodies nihilism on the hard-charging set opener, "Tomorrow's Empire," takes police brutality to task with the muscular "Kill or Incarcerate," and pays homage to punk's history by covering the Valves and the Oppressed with skillful rage. Lead throat/gang leader Chet da Bastard Knight is keenly but understandably critical of feeble mall punkers like Good Charlotte on "We Don't Pose," but it's his right-hand men, bassist Stuart SOB and guitarist Warren Hate Bailey, who help execute the Rancid-like "Skunx" and the bleak postwar anthem "All He Ever Wanted." With unyielding resolve on Hate Generator and a nod to the sorely overlooked Oi! movement, APA play like the underground punk legends they're destined to become. ~ John D. Luerssen, Rovi
