Details
[Edit]A rapper/producer from Brooklyn's Brownsville, Agallah is one of those guys who's been around forever but never really made it big. Previously known as 8-Off, he's been making moves in the studio since the mid-'90s: working with Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Busta Rhymes, and assorted NYC all-stars. He recorded a solo joint in 1995 called Wrap Your Lips Around This (though it didn't come out until 2012). Probably best known for his underground hit "The Crookie Monster" (circa 1999), he's experienced a career rebirth in recent years, staying busy with his Diplomats-affiliated group Purple City, calling himself The Don Bishop, and dropping a gang of new mixtapes. The Red V features Ag alongside an extensive lineup of indie-rap homies from both coasts, including Termanology, Supernatural, Ras Kass, Planet Asia, Sean Price, Inspectah Deck, and more. Grimy rhymes and thick, loop-heavy production abounds, with standouts like "Identity Theft," "Painted Pictures," and "(E.F.S.) Exclusive Fly Sh*t."
