Details
[Edit]Sharply clever for a deep-mood LP of didactic techno, Jello's Volle returns to Bristolian trip-hop with the intention to slip in the personality of a university mathematics professor. Stoned grooves are passed over for alarm-clock electronic music, the outcome of which is a lucid offshoot of Autechre IDM and an artificial but somewhat menacing take on intentionally fictional soundtracks and antisocial hip-hop. Many songs float across, like Future Sound of London's "We Have Explosive," in slow-motion ("Lungbone," "Vamillaglade"). Others, suggestively, like the overcast charm of Iceland's Múm ("O'verb"). Inconsistent if relatively unique.
