Ammunition is certainly an appropriate title for British DJ Alex Metric's six-song EP. While each track is unique, none stray far from the rapid-fire percussion and melodic elements that define the whole set. "Prophecies" takes the feel of an introduction, playing like an extended crescendo. Then machine-like synths and electro bleeps signify that the warm-up is over, transitioning into the otherworldly piano synths of "Motion Study." Structured more like a traditional trance song, this instrumental gem features co-production from the Los Angeles–based duo Oliver. Next up, "Rave Weapon" intersperses machine gun–like percussion and melodies with a vocal sample from Cherrelle and Alexander O’Neal’s “Saturday Love.” Metric includes three remixes of "Rave Weapon" on the EP. They range from the darker, futuristic progressive house of Aeroplane Droid to the hip-hop–influenced remix from Mark Starr and UZ's sped-up, high-octane trap house production.
