[Edit]There are probably as many singer/songwriters in Brooklyn as there are waitresses, barmaids, hostesses, and busgirls, but this one's laudable. Aside from the breezy folk-pop "I Lie Awake at Night (But That’s Alright)," Bezunartea uses only background bass and drums to focus ears on her lightly brushed acoustic, gentle piano, featherlike harmonica, and songbird, lullaby voice. Does her easygoing weariness stem from her years of eatery jobs in Tucson, San Francisco, and New York? Serve as a metaphor for daily ho-hum boredom? Nevertheless, with her charmingly still voice, she calmly asserts she awaits "brighter still" mornings after singing what she knows best: "I spend all my money so quickly/I spend my love just as fast/Spend all my time wondering why these things never last/We don't know we never made it that far/And we're not gonna find it in restaurants and bars." There's a reasonable tip. ~ Jack Rabid, The Big Takeover, Rovi
