Spanish superstar Ana Belén juggles her time between music, film, television, theater, touring, tributes, and endless collaborations, so it is understandable that she does not record as often as in the past. A los Hombres Que Amé, her first studio album in four years, is another predictably tasteful entry in her long discography. Belén dedicates this record to her favorite authors, performing 14 songs by the likes of Joaquín Sabina, Kiko Veneno, Joan Manuel Serrat, Chico Buarque, Fito Páez, Luis Eduardo Aute, Pablo Milanés, Pedro Guerra, Juan Luis Guerra, José Alfredo Jiménez, Antonio Vega, León Gieco, Miguel Ríos, and, of course, husband and musical partner Víctor Manuel. In other words, Belén's personal list includes some of the very finest Spanish and Latin American songwriters of the past four decades, all of whom she has sung often throughout her career. A los Hombres Que Amé was produced and arranged by Belén's son David San José. The special edition adds a book with texts and photographs.
