Details
[Edit]Resplendent in Greg Diamond's swirling "Love Boat Theme" mix of disco beats, strings, Latin percussion, and horns, the Andrea True Connection's debut is a classic bit of polished dancefloor kitsch (also deserving credit is Tom Moulton, who remixed the album just prior to release). True's star rose considerably with the chart-topping title track (one of the most impressive of many one-hit disco wonders of the era), but this would prove to be an anomaly in light of the dismal sales of her sophomore album, White Witch. Considering True's highly mixed and less-than-amazing vocal talents, though, a single splash is all one could have probably hoped for. And adding to the quality of "More, More, More" (featuring Diamond's lovely trumpet and cow bell instrumental breaks), there is the peppy, pop-disco of "Party Line," the slicked-up boogaloo cut "Keep It Up Longer," and two fine extended tracks: the jazz-inflected, Philly soul-wise "Fill Me Up (Heart to Heart)" and the fleet and airy "Call Me" (probably the most Love Boat-esque of the lot). Something of a classic from the disco catalog, More, More, More makes good on its one giant hit with a highly enjoyable and urbane array of dance tracks.
