Grabaciones Encontradas Vol. 2

After the success of the 1993 rarities collection Grabaciones Encontradas, Calamaro released the second part of this material just a year later. Like the prior album, these songs were mainly composed between 1984 and 1994; some are studio demos while others are experimental home recordings. The most important track in this album is the version of Pablo Milanés "Años," a historical duo collaboration with Sumo's singer, Luca Prodan. For years this song wasn't available (it was originally included in a greatest-hits compilation in 1987). There are also another covers like José Alfredo Jiménez's "En el Ultimo Trago" and Leon Gieco's "Todos los Caballos Blancos." "Buena Suerte y Hasta Luego," the first single from that album, is actually an outtake from Calamaro's masterpiece, Nadie Sale Vivo de Aquí. Although this is a demo, the song is good enough to stand as one of the singer's unheralded classics. There are plenty of style mixes (candombe, pop, jazz, blues) and much experimentation.
