[Edit]Everything save a saxophone on one track on Antenne's #3 is created by Kim G. Hansen, formerly one-half of the Danish industrial duo Institute for the Criminally Insane, and singer Marie Louise Munck. This isn't an industrial album, but it's an effective blend of electronic ambient textures with acoustic instruments and more song-oriented components, the most alluring aspect being Munck's emotionally cool, delicately reserved vocals. Instrumentally the mood is very much on the spare and spacious side, though with enough subdued electronic drones, squiggles, rustles, and buzzes to push this way out of folk or new age territory. Though not quite dark, it's certainly melancholy and sedate in tone, bringing to mind overcast days spent in deep thought while wandering around sparsely vegetated fields. This might be too unrelentingly low-energy and almost deadpan in the vocal department for some listeners, sometimes leaving you with the feeling that it would take a catastrophe or miracle of the largest order to rouse any excitement out of Munck. But for those looking for this kind of music at its more accessible, as well as material complementing more contemplative and sober emotional states, it's worth investigating.
