[Edit]Apocalypse Theater is trying to push themselves into the specific category called "new goth," even though it's questionable what exactly that is. Especially considering the fact that Cain or an Open Vein barely breaks any new ground in the gothic field. With the typical use of industrial rock that backs the added '80s synth-pop and "tortured" lyrics, the only high point of this release is the clever cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time."
