Arena Sweden is a duo — amazingly — from Sweden. With a former Swedish pop reality show contestant on board as the vocalist, and the triumphant, vaguely Mr. Mister-ish arrangements of Hal Marabel guiding it, your life will soon be controlled by Arena Sweden. How could it not be? "Heaven" is suggestive of Enrique Iglesias' slick pop, while "Show Me the Way" crosses lighthearted dance-pop with the urgency of Cutting Crew's "[I Just] Died in Your Arms." This is fluff, certainly. But keep in mind that many of the melodies guiding the boy band movement of the late '90s emanated from Sweden. Marabel and vocalist Dennis Radoicic continue that tradition with cuts like "You Are the One" and "I Want to Love You" — they're slick, hooky productions that keep the emotions generalized. A solid, on-point effort for its genre.
