Details
[Edit]In 1978 Art Hodes led this fine septet set in Atlanta, mostly using local players in addition to cornetist Ernie Carson and bass saxophonist Spencer Clark. The original eight songs from the LP are here (swing and Dixieland standards including "Sunday," "You're Driving Me Crazy," and "Walking My Baby Back Home") plus two alternate takes of "Sunday" and a second version of "It's the Talk of the Town," which features singer Maxine Sullivan. The musicians play up to expectations and although there are no surprises, the spirit was definitely there during these freewheeling performances.
