Details
[Edit]Audio Adrenaline’s eighth studio album, Until My Heart Caves In, was supposed to be its last. Released in 2005, it was followed by 2007’s Live from Hawaii: The Farewell Concert—which announced the band’s dissolution in the title. Forward to 2013, and it’s apparent that original bassist Will McGinniss and founding member/songwriter/backing singer Mark Stuart weren’t ready to call it quits. They rekindled the group's fire with new frontman Kevin Max (dc Talk) before recruiting CCM stalwarts Jared Byers (Bleach) and Dave Ghazarian (Superchick). The equally catchy and groovy “He Moves You Move” opens 2013’s Kings & Queens sounding like classic Audio Adrenaline, albeit with a new life and energy. The tailing title track overflows with a soaring, anthemic chorus and the rich textures of orchestral accompaniment. Despite a funk-pop tune called “King of the Comebacks,” don’t mistake this album for a career comeback or some kind of ego vehicle. Kings & Queens was recorded to benefit Hands & Feet Project: an organization founded by Audio Adrenaline in 2004 with the mission of housing 100 Haitian orphans.
