Baby's Best: Sleepytime Songs features 15 new and classic lullabies as performed by a variety of keyboardists. Some of the arrangements, as on "Hush, Little Baby, Don't You Cry," "Pretty Little Horses," and "Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Lay," are a little too overwrought, but there are enough tracks, like "Kumbayah," "Evening Prayer," and "Golden Slumbers," to make the collection worthwhile. The original songs penned for this album fall prey to the problems with fussiness that plague the classic lullabies, but Roland Hanneman's "Peaceful" is a highlight. On the whole, this is an average collection of lullabies; the singalong collections in the Baby's Best series are much better.
