Details
[Edit]If Iggy Pop had not been a product of the trailer parks of southeast Michigan, but had instead been raised by the pickin'-and-grinnin' psychopaths of Deliverance, he would have recorded his "Lust for Life" the same way Bad Livers covered it (i.e., a speed-freak bluegrass fever dream that makes lyrics like, "I'm just a modern guy/Of course I've had it in the ear before," that much hinkier). It's a novelty record, to be certain, but it's a great novelty: never have banjos and fiddles sounded so fierce — so punk, really — and unlike Iggy's original, there's not a chance in hell you're ever gonna hear it in a cruise ship commercial.
