[Edit]Utilizing slick production and a pop sensibility, South African singer Bayete moves in a techno-dance direction. The synthesizers and disco beats on tracks like "Umathiluma" and "Bambanani" are infectious, but will probably horrify fans of the more rootsy South African bands. But as bids for crossover popularity go, this one is quite pleasing.
