[Edit]The fourth CD of singer/songwriter Belô Velloso brings a change of pace. Instead of the axé music flirt of the previous album, now Velloso sings melodic and peaceful ballads accompanied by a sole violão (acoustic guitar). About half of the album is dedicated to studio recordings and the other half to live performances, where she interprets her best-known tunes. The highlights of an album where she interprets Alanis Morrissete ("Hand in My pocket") and Adriana Calcanhotto ("Canção Sem Nome") are the beautiful ballad "Acordar Pra Você" (Caetano Veloso/Belô Velloso) and the section dedicated to samba/MPB, with the wonderful sambas "Lágrima" (Sebastião Nunes/José Garcia/José Gomes Filho), "Desde Que O Samba é Samba" (Caetano Veloso), and "Você Vai Me Seguir" (Chico Buarque/Ruy Guerra). On these, she evidences a lack of the authentic samba swing (the rhythmic division of phrasing), and a great respect for the Brazilian music.
