Details
[Edit]This performance at the New Daisy Theatre in Memphis on Oct. 29, 1994, was Big Star’s first appearance in their hometown since 1974. It features original members Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens, with The Posies’ Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow filling out the ranks. Big Star's original "one-off" reunion became a lasting concern that continued for 16 years. Tighter than the band’s first reunion show (documented on Columbia: Live at Missouri University 4/25/93), Memphis presents the group as a living, breathing organism that just happens to have a stellar catalog to work with. Most importantly, the reunion focused Chilton’s energy on his best work.
