Details
[Edit]Bill Anderson maintains a set of well-crafted contemporary country tunes on his 2005 Varese release, The Way I Feel. All ten tracks were co-written by Anderson and, like any good country songs, the titles tell the stories: "What Drove Her Away," "That's Just the Way I Feel," "Cold All the Time," "God's Country," and so on. Anderson's tradition of spotlighting his duet partners remains intact with vocalist/fiddler Kenzie Wetz appearing on the weepy "Whiskey Lullaby," while Rustie Blue helps out on the rollicking "Chip Chip" (co-written with Melba Montgomery). Both women periodically opened for Anderson during his live performances during the preceding five years. The Way I Feel may not be the first "Whispering Bill" disc to purchase, but it does justice to Bill Anderson's massive catalog, which has endured for over four decades.
