[Edit]If South African vocal ensemble Black Umfolosi had come along in the midst of the worldbeat boom, they would be a prized commodity. Instead, this fine album has been almost ignored, and the undercurrent is that they are a second-level Ladysmith Black Mambazo imitation. The obvious similarities aside, Black Umfolozi's spiraling harmonies are expressive and wonderfully sung; they cover traditional material, include a ringing anti-war number, and have both moving praise tunes and sentimental fare like "Take Me Home."
