This collection of atmospheric soundscapes will remind someone of Peter Gabriel or Brian Eno, but Bob Holroyd has an ambient, ethnic vision all his own. Inspired by recent trips to Africa and Asia, these spacious sound sources include kalimbas, African drums, even samples of pygmies, combined with keyboards, fingerbells, congas and talking drums. The multiple sound layers and complex arrangements transform the lyrical and melodic material into a hybrid ethno-trance music for the '90s.
