Details
[Edit]This collection does an excellent job of tracing Bobby Bare's artistic evolution. We follow the big-voiced country star through all his incarnations (though not quite chronologically), from the slightly tongue-in-cheek late-'50s rock 'n' roller on "All American Boy" to the '60s purveyor of the highly produced "Nashville Sound" on "500 Miles Away from Home." There's Bare the mid-'70s Outlaw country maverick, covering Billy Joe Shaver's "Ride Me Down Easy" and Bobby the good-time guy next door ("Tequila Sheila"). But in every phase of his career, Bare's warm, welcoming tone and easygoing charm shine brightly.
