Brian Wilson’s second album for Disney is a delight, plain and simple. While it doesn’t seem like a combination that should work, it’s alchemy: Wilson, for all his brilliance, has always loved a good song—and Disney films have ’em in droves. And thus the boundaries blur, so that a song like “Baby Mine” from Dumbo sounds like it could have been part of The Beach Boys’ repertoire. Dig those harmonies on “When You Wish Upon a Star” and start wishing.
