Details
[Edit]A rhyme collective that features Pumpkinhead, Block McCloud, and Mr. Metaphor, Brooklyn Academy have been around for years, putting out plenty of material both as solo artists and as a full-fledged group. Bored of Education is their official debut album; it finds them sounding off over hard-hitting beats from Marco Polo, Will Tell, Snowgoons, Illmind, and more. Not really gangsters, not flashy playboys, and not wannabe drug kingpins, BA are just straight lyricists. This is reflected in their verses, which mostly center around how dope they are and their plans to take over the rap game. Verbal assists from homies like Jean Grae, Killah Priest, and Ill Bill definitely help. When everyone hits their stride, there are some serious jams here—"This Is Brooklyn," "Splash," "The Growler," and "Suicide" are all outstanding. A decent offering from an underrated squad.
