Details
[Edit]Calvin Harris made a dramatic pivot between 2007's I Created Disco and 2009's Ready for the Weekend. Whereas the former was cheeky analog dance-punk, the latter sowed the seeds for Harris' quick rise to EDM superstardom, with "I'm Not Alone" a case in point. Sleek and earnest, the track couches Harris' casual singing style in glittering arpeggios and towering synths, and its slate of remixers here attests to the Scotsman's ascension: Tiësto renders the tune as icy trance, his signature style circa 2009, while then-newbie Deadmau5 sprinkles his spindly synths and concussive kick drums throughout. The remaining remixes are good fun, but none so much as Brit producer Hervé's dub version: a slowed-down take that works surprisingly well with Harris' playful coo.
