N.Y.C.'s Camber infuses its lo-fi basement indie rock with good melodies and an occasionally traditional sense of arrangement. Wake Up and Be Happy captures a pre-9/11 sense of urban ennui, and while the overall vibe of the album is fairly dark and melancholic, the songs are recorded a bit too flatly, and could use just a tad more production sparkle. Wake Up and Be Happy probably won't be a revelation to emo fans, but it could find a welcome spot in their CD collections.
