[Edit]Canyon is psychedelic alt-country, mysterious and haunting. Disparate, three-part vocals and a distant, disembodied harmonica complete the dream-like nature of these compositions. Understated and sublime, this self-titled debut is a sad summoning of Gram Parsons, a melancholy meditation on a long, empty Western road. This is an evocative conjuring in the spirit of the Volebeats, the Scud Mountain Boys, and Friends of Dean Martinez.
