Although it never caught on in the United States with the same fervor as Capcom's famed Street Fighter series, Darkstalkers took the fighting genre in a spookier direction. As a horror-themed game filled with vampires, ghouls, and catwomen, Darkstalkers, Vol. 4 shows off the moody atmospheres created by the game's soundtrack, moving from the gothic organs of "Demitri Winning Theme" to the intense industrial synths of "Lilith Winning Theme." The series also has a sense of humor about itself, as showcased on the irreverent, cat-filled "Felicia Winning Theme." While these songs aren't the most crucial compositions put out by Capcom, they show off the wide range of styles the company's composers were able to create, making for an enlightening, if a little bit silly, look at the work of one of the games industry's most influential publishers.
