Details
[Edit]Hailing from San Francisco's notorious Hunter's Point neighborhood, Black C founded the RBL Posse in 1991. That crew hit pay dirt with their debut single, "Don't Give Me No Bammer": a absolutely timeless Bay Area classic on par with Tha Luniz' "I Got 5 on It," which appeared several years later. After two successful albums, group member Mr. Cee was shot to death in 1996, though Black C and Hitman kept his memory alive though a gang of independent releases. Hitman was murdered in '03, but Black C has stayed busy ever since, with quality underground joints like Last Man Standing, The City of Gods, and 70s Baby. On Still Ruthless, he shares the mic with an assortment of Golden State veterans, including E-40, Andre Nickatina, C-Bo, Mac Mall, Messy Marv, San Quinn, B-Legit, 4-Tay, and Yella. Though it's been a minute since he appeared on the charts, he shows that he's never lost a step. There are slick rhymes and tight beats aplenty, especially on jams like "How It Is," "Tryin 2 Win," "The Streets Crazy," and "Hatin on Me."
