Do It Again!

Former Laughing Dogs member Cathcart returns with a force to the music scene with a solo album that will have Beach Boys (and pop music) fans drooling with ecstasy. Carter has done what many music listeners throughout the years only dream about: he's taken some of his favorite songs (in this case, the Beach Boys) and added little bits and pieces he's always wished were there, but never were. There's an added chorus or two here, a slightly more upbeat tempo there, an extra bridge on that one, more harmonies on the one after that, etc. In essence, Carter has created a whole new feeling for some of the Boys' already glorious moments. And to make it even more exciting, he tackles some of the more obscure Beach Boys moments, such as "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)," "Long Promised Road," "Trader" and others. Only "Caroline No" and "Do It Again" are considered standards, which makes this collection an outstanding introduction to some of the Beach Boys' finest overlooked songs. In Cathcart's tribute to his favorite band, he's not only opened the doors for non-Beach Boys fans to take a peek at what they've been missing, but he's also given Beach Boys fans (who will undoubtedly rush out to get this) the chance to discover what an exciting talent he is.
