This collection of out-takes, demos and lost tracks effectively wraps up the final loose ends for Florida Sludgecore cult favorites Cavity, who finally decided to call it a career in the year 2000; having apparently had enough of widespread critical acclaim backed by non-existent commercial returns. You really can't blame them, as listening to furiously raw, desperately scum-ridden outbursts like "F**k Diablo," "Spine II," and "Human Abjection" feels just like riding in the band's no doubt battered and tattered touring van. Henry Rollins never had it this bad — you would have quit years ago! Amazingly enough, however, the songs on Miscellaneous Recollections '92-'97 deliver a pretty decent, unified statement for a bunch of often poorly recorded leftovers; but only diehard Cavity fanatics (the kind who will recognize the raging "Covered Twice" as a rough precursor to Supercollider's "Set in Cinders") are likely to care at this stage of the game. May Cavity at last R.I.P.
