Details
[Edit]A rarity even among rarities: the wonderful Cuban décima style was much less recorded either than its Puerto Rican equivalent or the Cuban sones. Though it's connected with the more general guajira of the CD above, only one other commercial decima recording gives the full flavor of the rural style, and that's long deleted. Yet this declamatory, almost epic idiom is one of the great Euro-Latin traditions, dating back beyond 17th-century Spain to Renaissance Italy. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music, Rovi
