This Swedish trio makes light, pretty jangle pop reminiscent of early Ivy or Cardigans. Comprised of members from Red Sleeping Beauty, the Shermans, and Happydeadmen, the Charade whip up an airy froth of utterly predictable but utterly delightful music to make your summer days shine a little brighter. Anyone who goes in for this type of music knows exactly what to expect: ringing guitars, delicate, accented female vocals, catchy melodies, and just the faintest tinge of melancholy. "Monday Morning" is a sparkling opener that sets the tone for an album that is certain to bring a smile to twee lovers, even if the songs vaporize as soon as the album ends. With a bright floral cover and song titles like "The Sun is Gonna Shine on You...and Me" and "It's Summer Again." The Best Is Yet to Come is every bit as much of a seasonal album as A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra, but the Charades are reserved for sunny afternoons in July.
