Charlie Peacock again demonstrates why he is one of the top songwriters of Contemporary Christian Music in the '90s. Peacock is not content to rest on his laurels — he likes to push the boundaries of CCM, adding in elements of modern, alternative rock, dance music, and jazz to his bedrock pop sound. It's an invigorating listen because he has the talent to create these bizarre fusions — although it sounds strange on paper, it sounds competely natural to the ear. Strange Language is one of the most ambitious CCM albums of the mid-'90s, as well as one of most rewarding.
