The Airs of Wales is the premiere solo recording of Cheryl Ann Fulton, foremost American performer of medieval and triple harp repertoire. These stately, graceful melodies combine elements of traditional folk music and formal classical compostion. The triple harp featured on the album has 3 parallel sets of strings, providing diatonic as well as chromatic tuning. This music, in its gracious elegance and courtly formality, is very different from the lighter historical Celtic vein. Ms. Fulton's impeccable performance and pellucid sound do justice to this delightful collection of historic Welsh songs.
