Details
[Edit]A composer of great precision and clarity himself, Pierre Boulez has brought his incisive sense of structure and proportion to orchestral masterpieces of the twentieth century with the greatest orchestras in the world. There is no greater orchestra than the Chicago Symphony and no twentieth-century masterpiece more towering than Stravinsky's lush balletic vision of the Russian folk tale The Firebird. It's hard not jump from your seat when the world's greatest brass section launches King Katschei's dance, and the perfectly paced "Berceuse" and "Finale" leave the listener with a sense of triumph.
