[Edit]Rising above the pure East-meets-West cliché of the concept for Celtic Ragas, sarod player Chinmaya Dunster and guitarist Vidroha Jamie combined for several tracks of textured, contemplative music — softly yet nimbly played and never indicative of the new age pap so often heard on projects like these. The songs are based either on traditionally Indian or Celtic forms; best are the Indian forms, like the continual hints of raga present on the showpiece, "The Goddess."
