Chris Botti celebrated the twin successes of his When I Fall in Love and To Love Again albums in deluxe all-star-concert style. With full orchestral backing and six vocalists from the latter duet project, the trumpeter demonstrates how he excels in a live setting. Accompanied by then-regular bandmates Mark Whitefield (electric guitar), Billy Childs (piano/Fender Rhodes/arrangements), James Genus (double bass), and Billy Kilson (drums), he’s joined by divas of the soul (Gladys Knight), neo-soul (Jill Scott), and neo-crooner (Renee Olstead) persuasions. Longtime collaborators Sting and Paula Cole each sing two songs here, with Cole joined by songwriting legend Burt Bacharach on piano for a funky version of his “The Look of Love.”
