Details
[Edit]Director Gregory Hoblit's horror thriller Untraceable is sort of cross between The Silence of the Lambs and Seven updated for the age of the Internet in which an imaginative serial killer who displays his grisly murders on the Worldwide Web is chased by a female FBI agent played by Diane Lane. The movie sticks to the formulas of its genre, and busy soundtrack composer Christopher Young doesn't seem to have seen any reason to do anything different with his score. His contemplative main theme, a delicate piano motif, is reminiscent of John Carpenter's music for Halloween, but his main influence, naturally, is Bernard Herrmann, particularly the score for Psycho. The music sounds orchestral, but the presence of several "synth programmer" credits and the absence of any for, say, orchestra contractor, suggest computer-generated origins.
