The uptempo Brazilian funk of Cidade Negra continues to improve, and on Quanto Mais Curtido Melhor they deliver the album of their career up to this point. Variety is the key, and they have finally figured out the fine art of utilizing different aspects of their own sound. It doesn't hurt that the music is much better this time around, reflecting the tastes of the group much more than the bland reggae-pop they were crafting before this point. There's still a taste of that here, but it is finely tempered with soul, samba, rap, and R&B. If there is any Cidade Negra album from the 90's to buy, this is the one that appeals to the widest audience and contains some of their strongest songwriting.
