[Edit]Accomplished arranger/composer Ciro Hurtado presents his second solo album—a collection of 12 original works depicting a lyrical, visionary portrait of his native Peru. His command of the guitar puts this acoustic wizard on a par with Santana. Blending elements of a classical Spanish guitar and his Latin American heritage with a generous flavoring of contemporary jazz, Hurtado is impressive indeed. "Magic Mist," the stirring vocal by Ciro's wife and collaborator Cindy Harding, is an outstanding addition to the album's instrumental selection.
