Details
[Edit]Clara Nunes was a great samba singer, owner of a powerful voice and a generous swing. In this compilation some of her hits were reunited, all pure samba, both Bahian (samba-de-roda) and Carioca with the samba do morro (samba of the Carioca hills) playing an expressive role, with the sole exception of "Nação," a more mid-class view of samba by João Bosco but not less respectful to the truest spirit of the Brazilian genre. The overall arrangements are based in the purest morro instrumentation (cavaquinho, violão sete cordas, percussion) with the addition of some studio instrumentation such as the drum set.
