Details
[Edit]Actually a series of 18 duets between Italian pianists Claudio Cojaniz and Georgio Pacorig, this highly original set is a lesson in piano playing. Ranging from fairly traditional swing to wildly outside escapades, the two pianists delight in finding new perspectives from which to share their marvelous sounds — without tripping over each other. Sometimes battling, while at others supporting one another, the two pianists are comfortable in an extraordinarily diverse range, from soft and quiet contemplative moods to the rough and tumble of agonized despair. It is all done in good taste, with excellent technique a byproduct. Accessible and enervating, this CD may be difficult to find, but it is worth the hunt. The lengthy liner notes are in Italian, but that should not deter, as the music speaks for itself.
