Arriving as something as a surprise, Colbie Caillat’s Gypsy Heart Side A—EP has the feel of a personal statement as well as a summertime pop treat. In these five tracks, the singer/songwriter reconnects with the easygoing California vibe that earned her a loyal following in the first place. “Live It Up” hits the right note with its percolating groove and joyful chorus, delivered by Caillat with slinky sweetness. The momentum continues with “Blaze,” an upbeat anthem that invites one and all to dance barefoot on tables and sing out with abandon.
