Details
[Edit]The Old Man and the Sea apparently is meant to fall into the same purported genre as Enya, Clannad and Loreena McKennitt — sort of syntho-Celt with massed voices stuffed through large reverb units. The producers and artists involved have worked hard at fostering this impression, with the result that they've put out a very likable album with some nice material. Alas, the result is less Celtic/Gaelic than ABBA meets Mike Oldfield — something Oldfield accomplished himself nearly fifteen years ago when he recorded ABBA's "Arrival." In other words, expect something pleasant and unaffecting, but don't expect the future sound of Celtic music — or even the past.
